ACME (RFC 8555) is an open standard protocol that automates the entire certificate lifecycle between a client application and a Certificate Authority. In this setup, CERTInext acts as the ACME-compliant CA and your ACME client (such as WinACME or Certbot) communicates with it on your behalf.

The protocol removes the need for manual certificate requests, CSR submissions, and renewal tracking. Once configured, the client handles everything automatically on a scheduled basis.
